Pat Askins was born in Plaquemine, Louisiana and grew up in a small town and close-nit community. Growing up in a small town as a child, Pat learned many things about uniting as a community as well as discovering some of her own interests such as reading, sewing, singing, and writing.

Pat came to Colorado shortly after graduating college. She later went on to work in the fashion industry as a seamstress and designer in the Denver area. Alongside being an Author, she is also a motivational speaker, life coach, and singer.

In 2008, Pat wrote and published her first children's book Twigs, Leaves, and Rubber Bands. Pat's inspiration came from her devotion to her faith, her grandchildren, and her love for writing.  In her spare time she enjoys being with her family, sewing, baking, and reading. She currently resides with her husband in Colorado.
